Post 8: A subject you enjoyed studying

The last post! Every single post made me think a lot, because the topics or questions are things I never over think before, and I liked discover what was the answers.

A subject I enjoyed studying was systems physiology, the last year. I actually enjoyed studying how the body works and leads all the process to keep it balanced and in optimal operation.  This subject is very interesting and useful to understand how the human body gets sick.

I enjoyed it because I always like to know about everything (less football haha) and I really want to understand why our specie get diseases and why our bodies systems fail, for me learn about these things is like open a new windows of knowledge in my life to use it at the future to be a good professional.

Before I studied systems physiology I didn't know nothing about the course, and I was thinking it was very hard. And to did it more hard for me I didn't take the previous course (cell physiology, I'm doing right now), but studying constantly I succeeded.

And that's all, thanks for reading.

Post 7: An expert / person in your field that you admire

Hi!

It's a little bit hard to me do this post, because I don't usually admire noone, but if someone ask me I think quickly on Nikola Tesla and Stephen Hawking, but after some minutes thinking on that I remember (someone closer to my field) Dr. Edward Bach.

I admire him becasuse he create a new way to heal people through the healling power of vibration of flowers. That sound crazy!! You can say that... but if you want to know about how that works you must to understand quantum physics and what are we made of... at simple words, we are compound about atoms but atoms are compound by electrons, protons and neutrons, but they are compound by quarks, and what are these elemental particles, are energetic particles?... we are compound by densified energy? Well I'm not an expert in quantum physic but I understand that. The way the Flowers of Bach work are through vibration, each flower have and specific vibration and it resonates with our vibration transforming it and with that change our bodies can healing.

Doctor Bach born at 24 September 1886 in Moseley, Worcestershire. He studied medicine at the University College Hospital in London, and obtained a diploma of Public Health at Cambridge.

In 1917 Bach had a malignant tumour removed from his spleen. It was predicted that he had only three months left to live, but instead he recovered.

Bach died after finish his work (the 40 remedies of flowers). He died on his sleep at 27 November 1936 in Wallingford, Berkshire, at the age of 50.

Bye!.

Post 6: How can your mayor make the world a better place?

Hi!

With the origin of chemistry and pharmacy, the world changed... diseases can be treated, cured or prevented. Before that, many people died by something as simple as a flu, for example.

The technology and industry behind pharmacy makes drugs for all the people around the world mostly. Today our specie can live until eighty or ninety years old easily.

I would like improve drugs, making them just to prevent diseases, finding a way to detect illness before they appear... can be able to correct the problems and eradicate the diseases from the world... sound crazy or dreamy I know, but if we become capable to see why the disease appear in each person and make a specific treatment to that person, fixing all they need to stay in a perfect state of health.... I believe we can do that with more technology and multidisciplinary support.

I believe if we can eradicate diseases from the world we can create a community able to enjoy their lives without sick problems, maybe the human race can be start to improve more their spiritual evolution, leaving behind the physical problems... even leaving behind the afraid to die.

Bye!!

Post 5: A photo and its story

Hello!

I took this picture about five years ago, when I was living in Australia, I think it was taken in the Botanical Garden of Campbelltown, in NSW.

I chose it because somethings I love to do is to look at the sky, I believe it's one of the most beautiful things about our planet. I always take pictures of the sky, I think it is a kind of motion art.

For me this picture represents everything, because when I look at the sky I feel its magnificence, without our atmosphere we cannot exist.

Since I can recall I have spent a lot of time looking at the sky, on a sunny day, cloudy day, better on a stormy day, even at night. When I was a little child I used to wake up and go out of my house to see the moon and stars... I think it is something that fills my heart and soul, it is hard to explain, it's like feeling connected to everything, I can compare it to as a deep state of meditation perhaps, I don't know 😋.

Bye 😉!

Post 3: My favorite piece of technology

Hi!!

It is easy for me to answer this question... My favorite technology device  is my digital tablet 😍😍😍

I like technology, but this artifact is my favorite because I love drawing and with my beloved digital tablet I´m able to do my drawings directly in my computer and make digital art using photoshop, Clip studio, SAI and other kinds of apps.

It´s use as if it was a sheet of paper, you use a  digital pen over the tablet and you can draw, but your eyes are on the screen of your computer.

My first digital tablet was a Genius (it wasn´t good, but it was useful), I bought it when I was 20 years old (studying my first career) and I spent all my time drawing  because I loved it, for me it was a new experience in my hobbie... but I failed two courses (linear algebra and physicalchemistry I) because I didn't study at all when I was at home.

Now I have a new digital tablet from Huion (Chinese brand), it´s more professional and comfortable, but I don´t have much time to draw since my son was born HaHaHa 😋

I will recommend to buying one of these digital tablets if you like drawing and you want to explore digital art, but my advice is better buy a cheaper brand to learn how to use it, because some people can´t  use it to draw looking at the screen and not where the pen goes.

I left you one of my scape drawings... a little bit old by the way 😆😆... Thx 4 read!

Post 2: Why did you choose my major?

Hi!!

Well this task is a little bit hard for me... you will see XD

When I was a child I wanted to be an archaeologist. Indiana Jones was my idol hahaha and I was very delighted with dinosaurs and ancient civilizations... until now I love to read about these topics, more with my son, he loves dinosaurs (some of his first words when he learned how to speak were pachycephalosaurus and parasaurolophus... I must admit that I felt very proud 😋).

When I studied Food Engineering I had 3 options; my first option was FE, my second options was C&P. and the third was architecture (I don´t remember why, maybe because I love drawing). Actually it was so hard decided what to study... I have severals skills (my hobbies are drawing, cooking, reading and writing) and at the school I had maths and scientific interest and of course good marks... but nothing never enchanted me.

Even though I have a degree I decided to start again with C&P... honestly I don´t like FE and I wasn't lucky finding jobs. When I worked as an engineer I didn't feel satisfaction, sometimes I felt very frustrated. And as I said in the first post, I´m also a therapist and with these studies I discovered my true vocation: heal people and help them, I enjoy that... it fills my heart... on the other hand I also have a scientific mind... that's the reason why I decided to start a second career.

Well about the experience at the U... until now... just zoom classes 😱😱😱, I miss the old experience a lot, classrooms, classmates, the teachers... everything. I don´t know anybody face to face, It's feels so cold and unreal.

I would like to work somewhere I feel valued and can use my skills and knowledge. Some job where sciences is used for  good of people and the planet, not just for pockets, you know what I´m said.

Bye, thx 4 read!

Post 1: Who am I?

 Hi everyone,

My name is Andrea Galdames. I´m from Santiago, Chile, but right now I´m living in San Carlos, escaping from all the stress of Santiago. Nothing better than country life.

Well, what can I say about me?... I´m 32 years old, I´m studying a second career, I have a Food Engineer degree, from this same house of studies. I joined last year  to studied Chemistry and pharmacy by especial entry.

I have other studies, but I little bit different, I´m holistic therapist (Reiki, Bach´s flowers and others) and I have a master on akashic record reading. I love this kind of medicine/therapy not just to help people, but also show how to find their own path.

About my family, well I have a beautiful son, his name is Dante, he is 4 years old and he is very smart and funny. As I said before, we are living in the country right now, very close to Chillan.

The reason we came here is because I don´t have anybody who takes care of my son when I´m in class or studying. But my sister has enough time to help me at the moment, because she and her husband are building their house in a lovely plot of land with a beautiful view.

Staying here with my son is very pleasant... and funny for Dante, he loves animals, and here we can see horses, cows, chickens, even some goats.

Summer Holidays

Summer… I don't like summer... is so hot!!! Unless you have a big swimming pool or you are camping close to a lake or sea :D ...
